Let's face it, life is fraught with peril. Even if the last scary thing that happened to you was having to terminate a spider in the shower, it seems one can't open a laptop or turn on a TV without seeing updates on the latest mayhem the 21st century has to offer. Plane crashes, terrorism, mass shootings...it's a non-stop horror show. Which is why, oddly enough, I find that sometimes the perfect escape from real life fright is to spend a couple of hours in a dark theater being scared witless by a movie.
And nobody on the planet can provide that service better than Hollywood powerhouse Gale Anne Hurd, who we are fortunate to have as a keynote speaker in a few weeks at BlogHer'13. As executive producer, Ms. Hurd has brought us Sci Fi classics such as The Terminator, Aliens and (shudder) the most terrifying TV series ever, The Walking Dead. She has also helped shape the development of some of the strongest female characters on the screen, including my personal favorite, Sigourney Weaver's space-traveling, alien-fighting, superwoman Ripley.
We know from some of our past polls that there are a lot of sci-fi fans in the BlogHer community. For this week's poll, we'd like you to pick your favorite Gale Anne Hurd movies or TV shows. Tell us which ones you've liked the best, even if you've had to watch some of them with your eyes closed! By the way, it's never too late to jump on the Walking Dead bandwagon. I've just caught up on the first two seasons using Netflix. Looks like I'm going to have to strategize a zombie apocalypse plan after all!
Now, tell us what you think about zombies in general. Love them? Over them? Use the Swipp below to tell us about you. Share your photo habits by clicking on the Swipp smiley face and moving the slider to give your score, then pressing the Swipp It button to enter your rating.
(If you have real-life experience with zombies, DO TELL in the comments.)
