Delta Dental has a Business Analyst I opening in our San Francisco office. Delta Dental is looking for an analytical, motivated, detail-oriented, self-starter to be responsible for providing analytical support through research, data gathering, interpretation and development of policies and procedures and reporting. The incumbent in this position also assists in documenting business requirements and developing case scenarios in the development of new or enhanced systems.

Duties to include:

• Researching and analyzing data to identify trends or potential issues; developing plans and proposals to address issues.
• Participating in the development and management of project plans from project planning and design through testing, implementation and maintenance.
• Preparing written reports and verbal presentations summarizing project objectives, analysis, conclusions and recommendations.
• Communicating with and organizing division staff to meet project objectives.
• Managing the eligibility extract set up and on-going maintenance.
• Testing support of Enrollment projects both for ESP and Operational.
• Back up to: Mass Adjustment Processing Queues and Back up to the ID Card Coordinator.
• Lead for EMA security processing for AMT updates.
• Coordinating Enrollment clean-up efforts.
• Performing miscellaneous duties as assigned.

Ideal candidate will have:

• A Bachelor?s degree or equivalent successful work experience
• A minimum of 3 years experience in a related field
• Detail orientated, creative and flexible
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills to evaluate business processes and recommend effective solutions
• Strong organizational/time management and project management skills and multi-tasking abilities
• Experience with both process and data-driven structured analysis techniques
• Knowledge of Delta Dental products, policies, claims, eligibility and underwriting policies, procedures and guidelines
• Knowledge of Delta Dental systems, such as: MetaVance (MTV), Enrollment Management Application (EMA), Electronic Eligibility Processing (EEP), Interface Parameter Application (IPA), and Account Management Tool (AMT)
• Must be able to understand fairly complex written and oral instructions
• Ability to clearly present written information and findings
• Ability to communicate concepts
• Ability to make executive-level presentations
• Ability to interact well with co-workers and outside contacts
• PC literacy required; MSOffice skills (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Access, MS Visio); proficiency in InDesign preferred.
