KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (AP) -- Authorities in Union County are searching for whoever set a series of six fires at homes and barns over the last six days in the county.
Gordon Sartain, chief of the Northeast Union Volunteer Fire Department, told WBIR-TV (http://on.wbir.com/Thv3G7 ) that the latest two fires were set in unoccupied barns on Saturday.
Sartain said the fires, which are believed to have been intentionally set, destroyed two mobile homes, a house and three barns, but no one has been injured.
Ted Seals, who lives in Union County, lost his barn to a fire on Saturday morning and said the fire cost him more than $45,000 in damages.
Sartain worries that people could be injured if officials don't catch those responsible. Anyone with information is encouraged to call the Union County Sheriff's Office at 865-992-4062.
