Average Mass. gasoline prices up 5 cents (AP)

BOSTON ? Massachusetts gasoline prices are up five cents as the new year begins, the second week of increases.

AAA Southern New England reports Tuesday the average price of a gallon of self-serve, regular is $3.29.

That price is two cents above the national average, and 26 cents above the price at this time last year.

The highest price AAA found this week for self-serve, regular remains at $3.49 per gallon. But the cheapest price was up seven cents from last week to $3.18.
