DiGi Telecommunications Sdn Bhd has collaborated with software security company, McAfee, to offer McAfee Internet Security and McAfee? Family Protection software.
DiGi?s head of broadband, Mohd Nazeem Mohd Nasir, said the products allowed parents the flexibility of setting control parameters to prevent exposure to objectionable contents such as inappropriate videos and explicit music lyrics while providing the kids access to appropriate ones.
?Parents can choose to be notified via email if any access to inappropriate content was attempted.
?With the collaboration, DiGi wants to take a proactive step in ensuring the younger generation is protected from harmful elements online,? he told a media briefing after the launch of the products in Shah Alam today.
He said currently, DiGi has over 5.5 million mobile Internet users, of which 300,000 used mobile broadband.
?We expect a double-digit growth in our mobile Internet users by year-end,? he said.
Available on DiGi Online Store, the McAfee security and safety solutions are now available for a special promotional offer ? customers will enjoy two months of complimentary online security or safety subscription in addition to the 12-month subscription period for all purchases.
DiGi Broadband customers need only pay from as low as RM5.70 per month, or an annual subscription of RM68, for McAfee Family Protection licence.
McAfee Internet Security is available from as low as RM7.30 per month or RM88 per year. ? Bernama
