AOL?s Hyperlocal Effort Patch Misses $40M-50M Sales Target, Partly Because Of Sandy, Still Aiming For Profitability In 2013

Image (1) patch-picture.png for post 303776AOL's Q4 earnings today saw that company (which owns TechCrunch) finally make a turnaround, after 8 years of decline, into revenue growth, with overall sales of $599.5 million. But there are still a lot of areas that are seeing flat or declining revenues, and some that are loss-making: among those is AOL's hyperlocal effort Patch. On the investor call today, CEO Tim Armstrong admitted that the division had not reached its revenue target of $40 million-$50 million, and that it was still unprofitable (specific losses not released), but that the aim was for it to reach profitability by Q4 of this year.
